When a Stranger Knocks

Stranger knocking on your door? The scenario below is a common technique that some burglars use. Some will also ring door bells on each side of the intended target to make sure no one is home in those houses either, no witnesses. This incident happened this afternoon in the Clock Tower Crime Watch area. 1:00 p.m. today, black male, dark complected, wearing green shorts (mid-shin) and a white t-shirt around his neck attempted to gain entrance to my home. Shortly prior same suspect was knocking on doors at 900 W. Scott Street. Individual, who was home, answered. Suspect asked for non-existent tenants and then left. Suspicious enough that said individual called MPD. MPD patrolling now.
