A great collaborative effort was exemplified by the Third Annual Basura Bash, or "Trash Bash" at Kozy Park on Milwaukee's Southside last year. This summer will be no different.
Safe & Sound Community Partners and Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful brought diverse groups to the park to host the event with over 500 participants. This year's Bash will take place on June 4th at Clarke Square Park and involve more than 20 Southside sites, including block clubs, law enforcement, Safe Places and businesses, as well as community- and faith-based organizations. Volunteers will help out at numerous sites across the Southside, removing graffiti and garbage, while at the same time implementing anti-crime strategies, such as alley identification projects. After working the morning in the surrounding community, participants will gather at Clarke Square Park at noon for resource information, free food, games, and entertainment. To get more information, join in and be a part of the fun just go to our meetings and events calendar.
