The Milwaukee Police Department - District Two invites you to their monthly crime & safety trend meeting.

 

     If We Don't Claim Our Neighborhood Someone Else Will

 

Police Captain/Lieutenant/Sergeant will be answering any questions you have in regards to any crimes that have been happening in your neighborhood within the last 21 days.  If you have any concerns, problems or would like to learn about the crime in your area, this is the meeting you need to attend!

 

Residents of all neighborhoods are faced with: Vandalism, Robberies, Burglary, Auto Theft, Shootings, and Shots Fired.  Working together, we can reduce the opportunity for crimes to occur and improve our neighborhoods.  COME AND JOIN US!

District 6 CRIME NOTES

Whether you are concerned about the direction your neighborhood is going or simply want to help keep it safe, get involved. Getting involved with your neighborhood association or block watch is a big step towards stability and peace of mind. If you don't have one in your area, talk to a few neighbors and start one. We thank Nancy and Vickie for being involved and getting the following information to us.

 
MONTHLY CRIME ANALYSIS MEETING


Aggravated assault without a firearm –

 

                     3800 Block of S. 27th Street

o       Victim and suspect are dating the same female (witness)

o       Suspect observes the witness with the victim and demands that she come with him.

o       She refuses and suspect cuts the victim on the side with a razor blade, cause a laceration which requires stitches.

Suspect in custody – case cleared

 

                   2500 Block of South Shore

o       Victim is loading his vehicle when approached by the suspect and struck in the head with a base ball bat multiple times.

o       Suspect rummages through victims pants pockets but flees when he is scared away by a passing motorist who stops to assist victim, but obtains nothing.

o       Victim acquires multiple facial fractures and lacerations requiring stitches

o       Case pending.

 

Armed Robbery –

 

        6000 Block W. Oklahoma Ave

    • Victim is waiting on a bus stop when he is approached by the suspect who displays a handgun, demands and obtains money from victim, and flees.
    • Suspect W/M 18-22 YOA 6' 120-140# with reddish blond scruffy beard
    • Case pending.

 

              3200 Block s. 9th Pl

o       Suspect enters tavern, displays handgun, demands money from bartender & Patrons

o       One patron knocks Suspect to ground and a struggle ensues

o       Struggle spills outside and Suspect fires one shot at patron and flees.

o       Suspect is taken into custody by responding officers

o       Case cleared by arrest.

 

             3500 Block S. 20th Street

o       Two armed and masked suspects enter liquor store, demand and obtain money and flee

o       Both suspects described as B/M 18-20 YOA 5'7 – 5"10 150-160#

o       Case pending

 

              6200 Block S. 27th Street

o       Suspect enters store, approaches pharmacy, implies weapon and displays note demanding prescription narcotics

o       Obtained narcotics and fled

o       Thorough investigation led to the arrest of suspect

o       Case cleared by arrest

 

Strong Armed Robbery –

 

              2900 Block S. Logan Ave

o       Victim is walking home from work, listening to music with purse on shoulder

o       Suspect runs toward victim knocking victim to the ground

o       After a brief struggle, suspect flees with victims purse

o       Case pending

 

                3200 Block S. 16th Street

o       Victim is walking to residence (in alley) when approached by suspect who pushes victim against garage door, demands money, and goes through the victim's pockets

o       Suspect obtains nothing and flees

o       Case pending.

 

                 3100 Block S. 48th Street

o       Elderly victim is walking home from bus stop when suspect approaches victim from behind and removes victims wallet from victims rear pocket, knocking the victim to the ground

o       Suspect arrested a short time later, thanks to good citizen witnesses.

o       Case cleared by arrest

 

                   3700 Block S. 27th Street

o       Victim is on his bicycle when approached by suspect who strikes the victim in the head, knocking him off his bike.

o       Suspect then takes victims bicycle and flees

o       Suspect taken into custody a short time later.

o       Case Cleared by arrest.

 

Burglaries – Residential – 11

                       Garage       -   8

                       Business     -   3

 

Vehicle Thefts – 25.

  • 17 vehicles recovered.

 

Side Notes: 

 

The Milwaukee Police want to remind everybody with the winter months coming, not to leave your cars running outside unattended.   It is a prime target for motor vehicle theft.

 

Keep your garages locked up so that you do not become a victim.   Chain up your snow blowers, lawn mowers etc. so that they do not get stolen.

 

Watch out for scammers in the neighborhoods.

 

 

Guest Speaker – Mary Musolf / Department of Corrections.

 

Mary talked about how the Dpt. Of Corrections keeps track of sex offenders, and people who are on ankle bracelets and explained that they are monitored and picked up when they do not follow their rules.
